S/4512 Antique Treen 19th Century Lignum Vitae Plumber's Turnpin
A lignum vitae plumber's turnpin, which came in all sizes, usually made of a hard wood such as lignum vitae and were used for opening up the ends of lead pipes, hence one often finds indented lines as in this instance. Nowadays they make ideal paperweights. The whole has an excellent colour and patination.
