S/4577 Antique Treen 18th Century Fruitwood Mortar Grater

A good early 18th century two section fruitwood mortar grater, having a pestle with a most attractive large knob handle, that is above a tapered body with a fixed metal grater to the base. The mortar, with regular bands of ring turned decoration, is of tapered design with the conforming interior having a fixed metal grater at the base. Both graters are well worn and probably original. There is a small amount of patinated chipping to the base, that adds to the appeal of this early piece of treen, which has a lovely chestnut colour and good patination, therefore making it an extremely collectable item.
