S/4601 Antique 19th Century Marine Gimble Barometer

A good early 19th century marine gimble barometer, having a mahogany case of square and rounded section with a suspension ring, and having a brass framed rectangular domed top housing the glazed regulator plate, which has a numerical slide which is adjusted by an exterior bone knob. The thermometer, in a central position, also has a conforming brass surround. The brass base, of traditional circular form, unscrews to obtain entry to the reservoir, which holds the mercury. The whole has a good rich colour and is in full working condition.
