S/4602 Antique Treen Lignum Vitae Measure of the Georgian Period

An exceptional late 18th/early 19th century lignum vitae measure in heart and sap wood of extremely solid proportions, having a rim and foot with copper bands, with a substantial vertical pierced integral handle. The foot band is inscribed in capital letters 'Rutihn', the county town in Denbigshire, Wales. The whole has an excellent grain, colour and patination.
