S/4710 Antique Treen 19th Century Olive Wood Slickenstone
A 19th century olive wood slickenstone, used for smoothing linen. They were made of china, glass, marble or wood and were used with the cap downwards in a circular sweeping movement for smoothing and to some extent glazing damp linen. The whole has a good rich colour and patination.
