S/4744 Antique 19th Century Horn Vesta Case in the Form of a Shoe

A small exquisite horn vesta case in the form of a shoe, having a hinged lid that has extremely fine basket work decoration with brass pique work, as often seen on wooden snuff shoes. This is continued in front of the hinged lid, which opens to reveal an area for matches, that has a carved horn area for striking purposes. The whole has an excellent colour, condition and patination as well as quality.
