S/4648 Antique Treen 19th Century Fruitwood Shepherd's Cup or Dipper

An attractive folk art Romanian fruitwood shepherd's cup or dipper, all chip carved from a single block of wood. These were often carved by hill shepherds while attending their sheep during the summer months. The handle is pierced with a carved heart below a flowerhead, possibly as a love token. The whole has an excellent honey colour and patination.
