S/4856 Antique Treen Early 19th Century Mahogany Riddle Board

A good early 19th century mahogany riddle board, which were used in Scotland and the North of England for making oatcakes or oat bread and were scored diagonally to form squares. An identical one is illustrated in Pinto, plate 144, and a full description can be read on page 141. The whole has a pleasing pale colour and retains a patination.
