S/4842 Antique Treen Swedish birch Mortar Grater

An excellent spalted birch three section Swedish mortar grater, having a separate fitted top with a bold knob handle, that has a grater plate to the base, which when together sits on a further plate at the base of the main body. The base, which comes apart, is held by two protruding lugs to gain access to the grated substance. The whole, of a rounded and bulbous design, is decorated with incised lines with a conforming stepped base. It has a most excellent rich colour and patination.
