S/4876 Antique Treen 18th Century Four Section Lignum Vitae Coffee Grinder

A fine mid 18th century four section lignum vitae double baluster coffee grinder, in full working condition, having a folding handle, which fits in the bottom section for travelling and when not in use. The top finial unscrews to release the circular platform underneath, to gain access to the interior for filling with coffee beans. The next section unscrews to reveal the metal grinder, and to gain access to the ground coffee. It is turned from heart wood, which adds to the attraction overall. It has a lovely rich colour and excellent patination.
