S/4961 Antique Treen 19th Century Folk Art Tree Branch Pricket Candlestick

An unusual folk art tree branch pricket candlestick, which is a most interesting 19th century item, made from a branch of a tree and cut accordingly, so as to form a vertical tripod base on which is fitted a substantial circular iron ring, with the pricket rising from the centre of the cut branch. There are carved initials S.F. and also a carved fish on the main trunk. The whole has a good pleasing colour with a patinated finish.
