S/5002 Antique 19th Century Irish Blackthorn Shillelagh

A 19th century Irish blackthorn shillelagh, made from a root of blackthorn with a heavy bulbous end and vertical handle in the traditional manner. It is indistinctly initialled M.E.? The whole has an excellent colour and patination.
