S/5012 Antique Late 19th Century Ash Yoke
A good late 19th century ash yoke of traditional form, having a chain to each end. These yokes have been used for hundreds of years with no change in their design, worn on the shoulders, they were used by milkmaids and water carriers etc. throughout the land for carrying heavy loads, the weight evenly distributed. It has historic worm here and there, long since departed. The whole has an excellent colour, grain and patination.
