S/5104 Antique Treen Late 19th Century Swedish Bentwood Pine Food or Trinket Box

An oval pine Swedish bentwood food or trinket box, having a wood sprung fitted lid in the usual manner with a raised loop handle. The lid and body is decorated with punch work. The overlap join is held in place with woven cane and has a solid pine base. The whole has a pleasing colour, grain and patination.
