S/5216 Antique Treen Early 18th Century Boxwood Salt
An excellent early 18th century boxwood salt of chunky and most pleasing proportions. The interior has a horizontal base showing pole lathe 'jigger' turnings. The top has a folded lip above the bowl, which is raised on a short stem and has minute reeded decoration. The base has a stepped and rounded foot with the underside showing pole lathe markings. The whole has most pleasing proportions, a lovely soft colour and patination.
