S/5191 Antique Treen 18th Century Apple Wood Bowl with Historic Metal Repair

A lovely 18th century apple wood bowl with an angled rim, having an interior with incised lines conforming with the exterior. It has historic shrinkage that has been reinforced with a blacksmith's iron staple, which not only shows that the bowl was a valued item, but it also adds to the appeal, as it is part of our social history. The whole has an excellent colour and patination.
