S/5174 Antique Treen Early 19th Century Mahogany Tobacco Barrel
A most attractive well constructed Scottish tobacco barrel in mahogany having alternate vertical bands of alder wood and sycamore. The fitted lid has a removable acorn finial with the mahogany body having protruding bands of reeded decoration. The whole has a pleasing rich colour and patination.
