S/5177 Antique Treen 19th Century Pair of Burr Elm and Yew Wood Small Candle Stands

A good pair of burr elm miniature stools / candle stands, with well turned yew wood splayed legs. The solid tops have four concave sides with small concave corners. Both are in fine condition, have a lovely rich colour and retain a patination.

There are differing opinions as to their use. It is generally accepted that they were made by chair makers and could be used as candle stands or for display purposes on a side table or dresser.
