S/5145 Antique Treen 19th Century Twin Handled Poplar Wood Cheese Strainer

An interesting circular cheese straining bowl in poplar wood, having a central exit hole for draining the whey and twin handles with open triangular decoration. Whey is the watery part of the milk that remains liquid when the rest forms curds. The whole has a natural colour with a well used patination.
