S/5275 Antique Treen Late Victorian Boxwood Apothecary's Pestle
A well turned solid boxwood apothecary's pestle of mushroom form, having a top with ring turned decoration. These were usually used in a boxwood circular mortar for grinding medicinal powders etc. The whole has an excellent pale colour, grain and retains a patination.
