S/5287 Antique Treen 19th Century Poplar Wood Butter Bowl

A most attractive poplar wood butter bowl, having a fitted lid with a revolving bar which is held between the two raised supports. The base, of angled bucket form, has three bands of reeded decoration. The whole has a lovely honey colour and patination and it is a most desirable item. It has historic shrinkage to one side.
