S/5318 Antique Treen 19th Century Beech Cello or Double Base Clamp

An interesting and well turned beech clamp used when making a cello or double base. Violin clamps followed the same format, but were very much smaller in size and had a handle to one end. It is a decorative item for the collector of unusual pieces of treen. The whole has a good colour and patination.
