S/5290 Antique Ash Yoke of the Georgian Period
A good ash yoke of traditional form, having a chain to each end. These yokes have been used for hundreds of years with no change in their design, worn on the shoulders, they were used by milkmaids and water carriers etc. throughout the land for carrying heavy loads, the weight evenly distributed. The whole has an excellent colour, grain and patination.
