S/5317 Treen Fire Burnt Birch Platter

A most interesting fire burnt birch platter of circular form, having a beaded edge, rounded border and a circular centre. This platter must have been subject to intense heat, as it has shrunk across the grain by nearly half an inch, and has absorbed the smoke giving a most attractive shaded burnt appearance, producing an attractive rich colour and patination.
