S/5343 Antique Treen 18th Century Pair of Cherry Wood Goblets

A magnificent pair of large early 18th century cherry wood goblets of excellent proportions, each having an exterior bead. The pair are each raised on a circular tapered stem with a bladed knop, which is seated on an angled concave and stepped base, with a slightly recessed vertical foot. The undersides are concave and have excellent pole lathe turnings. One has a historic shrinkage to the base, which we feel is best left as a natural occurrence, adding character and originality, leaving them in untouched and unrestored condition. The original and rich colour is of the highest degree, making them a most desirable item for the serious collector.
