S/5507 Antique Treen 19th Century Boxwood Glove Powderer

A late 19th century boxwood cylindrical and tapered five hole glove powderer, having a screw fitting base for refilling and a removable brass base plate. They were needed when the gloves were too tight, especially in the Victorian times when long tight fitting gloves were in fashion. They were used in glove shops and in the home. The whole has an excellent pale colour and patination.
