S/5570 Antique Treen 19th Century Boxwood Glove Powderer

A late 19th century three section boxwood cylindrical and tapered five hole glove powderer, having a screw fitting tapered base for cleaning and refilling purposes. They were needed when the gloves were too tight, especially in the Victorian times when long tight fitting gloves were in fashion. They were used in glove shops and in the home. The whole has an excellent pale colour and patination.
