S/5680 Antique Treen Rare 19th Century Oak Marrow Scoop
A most unusual long oak marrow scoop, having a tapered turned handle and a minute knop finial. Marrow scoops were usually made of silver or silver plate, we have never come across one made of wood and because of its length it suggests it would have been used on a leg bone to extract the marrow. The whole has a medium colour and patination.
