S/5728 Antique Pair of Early 19th Century Tin Hogscraper Candlesticks
A good quality pair of tin hogscraper candlesticks, having a central brass collar known as a wedding band. The shallow domed circular bases, attached with a nut, support the cylindrical columns, which have a sliding thumb piece for adjusting the height of the candle. The dished sconces have a curved protruding handle for carrying purposes. The pair have an excellent colour and patination and are in fine condition.
