S/5759 Antique Treen Early Victorian Two Section Rosewood String Ball

A most unusual rosewood string or twine container of the early Victorian Period in the manner of a ball, having a brass and steel cutter to the top of the screw fitting lid. The interior has a beech bobbin for the string or thread. The bottom half has a brass rimmed aperture to exit the string or twine and the whole is raised on three original brass ball feet. It is exceptionally good quality and has a good colour and patination.
