S/5822 Antique Treen Mid 18th Century Fruitwood Mortar Grater

An excellent mid 18th century three section fruitwood mortar grater, which is of a bulbous design with a removable fitted mushroom knob handle that has an iron grater to the base. The centre section has a further perforated iron plate and is attached to the base by two protruding lugs. The whole is raised on a shallow vertical foot. The underside has excellent pole lathe turnings and the whole has an exceptional rich colour and patination.
