S/5826 Antique Early 19th Century Four Step Elm Spoon Rack

A large Welsh elm four step spoon rack, having a shaped pediment with a suspension hole for hanging on a wall.
Each step has a slightly protruding and rounded front edge and six holes, therefore it holds a total of 24 spoons. The whole has a pleasing grain, as often found in elm items and a good patination.
