S/5855 Antique Treen 19th Century Lignum Vitae Plumber's Turnpin

An excellent lignum vitae plumber's turnpin, stamped London, which came in all sizes, usually made of a hard wood such as lignum vitae and were used for opening up the ends of lead pipes. Nowadays they make ideal paperweights. It has a wonderful pale colour with an incised line and ring turned decoration and an excellent patination
