S/5873 Antique Treen Victorian Beech Double Grain Measure of Large Proportions
An imposing double ended beech grain measure for a pint and half pint, having two carved stamps of a crown above V.R. and numbered 113, with a further stamp of the letter B above the number 2 between a swan motif. The stamp 113 is used from 21-01-1826 till 1879 for Peterborough liberty (Northampton Co.). The dark crusty patination has scattered ancient worm holes.
