S/5939 Antique Treen 19th Century Oak Butcher's Gambrel
A rustic ash initialled butcher's gambrel, which is notched and used by butchers for stretching the carcass of a pig or calf, to enable them to cut and prepare the meat for sale. The whole has a good colour and patination.
