S/5972 Antique Treen 19th Century Elm Skirt or Trouser Ironing Board

A Victorian elm skirt or trouser ironing board, which were found in a variety woods, usually sycamore and pine, but the better quality ones, as in this instance, in oak or elm. They came in a variety of sizes, the smaller ones were for sleeves. The whole has a good medium colour, pleasing grain and retains a patination.
