Summer Newsletter 2023

30.08.2023

Owing to the problems abroad and the cancellation of flights, we have had more visitors holidaying in Devon and Cornwall than usual this year. This has resulted in us being busier in our gallery and so meeting new and old clients face to face. Selling on our website means that we never meet many of our buyers and collectors, so it is a pleasant change from the norm. Several established fairs have closed down this year, which was upsetting and worrying for many dealers. Luckily it has not affected the fairs that we attend, so we still exhibit at Builth Wells, Shepton Mallet and Westpoint in Exeter. Our website is still busy, especially across the pond in the United States and Canada, although as mentioned in our last newsletter and blog, European sales have remained fairly minimal, owing to the red tape and customs charges. We have managed to maintain stock levels, although it seems to be getting more difficult to find unusual and keenly collected items of treen, which sometimes sell or are reserved almost immediately we put them on our website. This keeps us both busy wrapping and packing parcels and doing all the paperwork. Our next fair is at Builth Wells on the 2nd – 3rd September, if possible do come and see us, as it is an enjoyable event surrounded by some beautiful Welsh scenery.
